    • A Grade: Top grade domestic teams and teams with players that compete at high levels: Big V, VJBL, CBL, etc.
    • B Grades: You play in the top grades of your local competition.
  • Intermediate / Medium / 'Crusaders' (CR)
    • B & C Grade: You play in the higher to middle grades of your local competition.
    • D Grade: You play in the middle to lower grades of your local competition.
  • Rookie / Easy / 'Weekend Warriors' (WW)
    • D & E Grade: You play in the lowest grades of your local competition

The three basketball groups

Note! All players start in the Weekend Warrior group by default.

Note! If your not happy with the group the organiser has put you in. Don't worry remember that this is not permanent, send an email to [email protected] to discuss which game you believe suites your skill.

Weekend Warriors (WW)

Play an Easy going beginner to intermediate level game.  Compares to a D grade standard. Beginners play basketball in a fun and supportive environment so that players can practice to improve their game from week to week.

Crusaders (CR)

Play a Medium intensity intermediate level game. Compares to a B grade standard. By nature are intermediate skilled players with some beginners and advanced players.

Loose Cannons (LC)

Compete in an Advanced fast flowing game with players that have play regularly and for many years. These games are played with a one on one (man on man) defence, and zone defence is only allowed in the event of a 20 point blow out. Compares to an A grade standard. Mostly advanced skilled players with some selected intermediate skilled players. This game will be far more challenging and  faster paced session for well seasoned competitive players, who know their position on the court and can coordinate plays. For example, a key indicator of an advanced player is when we notice that team members are lifted by their presence and not just dominating the scoreboard

All groups (all)

Open to All skill levels. Sometimes we have limited space or time, therefore games will merge groups together

Legacy / Pickup Games

Informal and casual game of varying skill levels

As we head into peak season (May to August), games fill earlier and player standards genuinely match the game. It is important that you are sincere and play games within your classification, (open to discussion by email). It's considered rude for a beginner to show up at a higher grade game and expect everyone to slow down for them. You must consider which group you are in when booking games. It's unacceptable to select games exclusively to fit your schedule. You can easily find which group you have been allocated to by logging into the website.

On 1/1/2018, players are now able to provide information about their specific basketball skills, experience and personal attributes. We take this information and when classifying a new playerThis helps organisers assign players into appropriate teams on game day.

Our current members have varied skills. Beginners have played before and advanced players brush up skills and practice in a separate group. It helps to be able to be familiar with basketball terms and have the basic moves under wraps. However a passionate sports person who is keen learn could pick these up after a few weeks. If your a beginner we require you to know the basic rules of basketball and have played some basketball beforehand (try our training sessions before playing your first game!)
